A Night To Remember…

Our NP20 & Miniclick Presents… “Emerging Talent” Event in Hackney was a great success!!!

The “Miniclick Shorts” photographers gave their presentations to a packed out room who were all engrossed in the fantastic work that was being shown (despite, perhaps being a little sticky due to the hot weather). The presentations were given by Jordi Ruiz Cirera, Jo Metson Scott, Sam A Harris, Alex Catt and Jocelyn Allen.

After the presentations had concluded, the panel discussion took place which involved speakers: Jon Levy (Foto8), Olivier Laurent (BJP), Rachel Segal Hamilton (Ideas Tap) and Jo Metson Scott (Photographer who’s been given the term “Emerging Talent”), hosted and chaired by Miniclick founder, Jim Stephenson. Surrounding the theme “Emerging Talent”, the discussion produced some lively debate on what it is meant by the term “Emerging” and the importance of photo collectives to help tackle a highly competitive industry (Olivier Laurent has since written on this subject in BJP online here).

All of us here at NP20 have received very positive feedback from the night and it seems everyone who came had a very enjoyable time. We would like to thank all those who came to the event, joined in the debates and conversations and helped make the night a fantastic success. We would also like to thank all of the photographers who gave presentations, all of the guests on the panel and of course, our very good friends Jim Stephenson and Jack Latham and the rest of the Miniclick team for organising the presentations and panel discussions.

A HUGE thank you must go to NP20’s organiser and event extraordinaire, Denise Myers for all the hard work she has done in preparation of the event and the smooth-running of it. We would also like to say thank you to: Katrina Forey, Dimitra Kountiou, and James Keiran Doran for all the help they gave during the night.

A BIG thank you to all the staff at the Hackney Picturehouse for all their much needed assistance and we hope to work with them again sometime in the future.

If you were unable to come to the event and would like one of our free NP20 newspapers then please get in touch with us via our email and we would be happy to send one out to you.
